I’m Adam Dean, the Founder of Dean Executive Search.

I'm an experienced executive search consultant with a track record of assessing leadership capabilities, building senior management teams and delivering sound strategic counsel to senior leaders. As both an investment banker and search professional, I have served as advisor to large-scale corporate, private equity and entrepreneurial clients, as well as Crown Corporations.

Before launching Dean Executive Search with our network of experts in 2017, I served as an executive search consultant in the Toronto office of a leading global search firm. In this role, I led dozens of searches across a variety of industries, including ­financial services, private equity, energy, infrastructure and retail. I also executed mandates across a range of functional roles, comprising financial officers, supply chain leaders and marketing & communications executives, among others.

Prior to that, I was Chief of Staff to the Vice Chairman of CIBC, leading senior coverage efforts to expand CIBC's relationships with corporate clients across Canada. I also served as Executive Director in CIBC Capital Markets.

Earlier, I enjoyed a decade-long career in investment banking, primarily with CIBC Capital Markets. Earlier in my career, I lived for five years in Chicago, working as a management consultant, before serving as a founding member of a tech start-up, which was later sold to a public company.

I hold an MBA from Ivey, an M.S. from Northwestern University in Chicago and a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.

I am actively involved in cancer fundraising and awareness efforts, and currently serve as advisor to the Board of Directors of the Terry Fox Foundation. I am a citizen of Canada and the UK, fluent in French and a competitive long-distance runner.
