Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group (CCL) mandated us on behalf of MidStar to attract its inaugural CEO to lead MidStar through this important new growth phase. The Search Committee required a seasoned and mature individual who brought an extensive lending background, involvement in “club-deals” and syndications, together with extensive relationships within the banking community.

APPROACH

The Search targeted a range of senior leadership candidates from lending & investment backgrounds at chartered banks, investment banks (including leveraged finance, sponsor finance, private capital groups and merchant banking groups), capital markets groups within asset management firms and alternative capital providers. We were drawn to highly-collaborative individuals, with strong track records and gravitas. Executive presence and the capacity to influence at the senior level was important, given the stakeholders involved.
